Simbang Gabi 2010 - Westside Schedule

Christmas Novena Masses - Simbang Gabi will be held at Holy Trinity Parish, from December 15th through the 23rd, 2010, at 7PM,except on Saturday, December 18th,the celebration of mass will begin at 5:30 PM to include the parish community in our festivity.

Rosary will precede a half an hour before mass.

Bishop Kenneth Steiner will preside on Thursday, December 23rd for the culmination of the Novena.

Simbang Gabi continues to be a significant moment where it strengthens the relationships among family members and a time to reinforce our faith in God. This is a special time when we feel the loving presence of our Lord and a spiritual preparation for Christmas. Our preparation for Christmas is a sign of our love for our God. And the sign of God’s love for us is the birth of His son. Our longing, our preparation for his birth is indeed an awesome gift from God! Stay Awake! Let's open our hearts to welcome his coming in our lives. O come, O come Emmanuel!

Simbang Gabi 2010 - Eastside Schedule

Please invite all family/friends and other parishioners to come and join us as we prepare for the the Lord's coming. Our main petition for this year's novena Masses is to build the St. Therese house for a poor Filipino family through Gawad Kalinga. The collections from the first and last Simbang Gabi Masses will go toward this goal. We hope that everyone will share what they can. Please remember that any donation will be tax deductible and acknowledgement will be sent by Gawad Kalinga.

We would like to invite you to the December 23rd potluck in the Parish Social Center, right after the Simbang Gabi Mass, where we can all celebrate Christ's coming with Filipino Christmas songs and lots of kakanin.

Thanks and God bless,
St. Therese Simbang Gabi committee

Simbang Gabi 2010 - Rainier, Oregon

MY DEAREST FRIENDS IN JESUS CHRIST

PEACE TO ALL OF YOU.

I cordially invite you and your extended friends to join with us in our Second Year Nine Days Christmas Novena Masses in Rainier Oregon. We are so grateful to all the Sponsors for this year 2010. Without you, the success of last year will be a great demand although it is a sacrifice to do all these nine days.

I will pray to God, our Lord Jesus Christ and with His angels that the weather will really be the best and all the wheels of your tires will be graced and will be guided by the angels of the Lord.

God bless you all and Have a Merry Merry Christmas to each and everyone.

In Jesus Christ and Mother Mary,

REV. FR. HENRY RUFO

Cinelayan Film Festival

Imagine this: every year in Portland, our community with our fellow Oregonians gather to celebrate much of what is beautiful, heartbreaking, intelligent, enduring, tragic, surprising, resilient and inspiring in the Filipino culture as seen and as imagined by outstanding Filipino filmmakers. There are few events and venues in the country that attempt to do this, let alone a smaller city – but how cool would it be to have one in Portland!

It can’t happen without you.

It can’t happen without the support and love of our community coming in droves with family and friends. If we are to build a high-quality community cultural event that shows Filipino films in Portland theaters, than we need to show that there’s a demand for it.

If you believe in this vision, we could use your help:

· Pledge to come to Cinelayan 2010 on Dec 17th with showtimes at 3pm, 6pm (5:30pm reception)

· Invite 3 family and friends to join you

· Email the poster announcement to your network of friends and colleagues; post the poster at work, church or your favorite hang-out

Like all of you who serve our community, our volunteer planners organize Cinelayan out of love. We are motivated by the strong desire to see a piece of ourselves, the best of our culture, celebrated in Portland and contributing to the vibrant multicultural scene. We are excited to share with you what gems we found this year. This year, we are strongly supported by many who have shown faith in this effort: Philippine Chamber of Commerce of Oregon (PACCO), ABS-CBN International and West Coast Bank. We humbly ask for your support as well.

See you at the movies,

Aimee, Katrina, Jessie & Welo

2011 FPACC Convention planning meeting

Greetings,

In case you have not heard I’m very proud to announce that the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Oregon (PACCO) has successfully won the bid to host the 2011 Bi-National Federation of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce Convention (FPACC). As this process moves forward and we begin the planning process I wanted to extend an invitation to all the friends of the chamber, our members, board of directors and other local chamber of commerce’s to participate in the planning.

This meeting request is being set with very short notice and I understand if you aren’t able to attend but I believe that inviting all of you to participate in the planning process will help guarantee a great convention that is tailored to the needs of all Oregonian and encourages local participation from the members of our community.

We are actively recruiting folks that would like to get involved so please share this with anyone that you might think would be interested.

Please RSVP!

Thanks,

Jason Lim
